Speaking before the City encounter Taylor said :-
"I'm realistic and I know it's not going to be a friendly reception from the fans. That's football,"
"I was the manager there and it didn't go as I'd planned, or how the fans expected, and I totally understand their frustrations."
Taylor spent 54 games in the City hotseat winning just 19 and eventually sending the club into freefall before his sacking in October 2001.
