"It is all done and dusted, Steve Cotterill will be joining the club on Monday," Adams told the official Leicester City website.
"Steve is a coach who has got a big reputation and I feel at the moment that what we need is an extra voice on the training ground.
"He wants to manage. It is an open-ended thing and if a club comes in for him then that's great.
"Steve is somebody that my coaching staff can possibly pick up little bits from. His contract runs until the end of the season.
"I'm sure he will be a welcome addition to Leicester City Football Club."
