Leicester to Demand 4m Loan Fee for Islam Slimani With Man Utd & Tottenham Linked

Leicester will demand a £4m loan fee for clubs wishing to sign Islam Slimani, who has been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham this month.

The Algerian is currently on loan at Monaco from the Foxes but has been linked with a departure from the Ligue 1 side, having been reduced to a bit part role at Stade Louis II.

According to the Daily Mail, United have enquired over the possibility of taking Slimani on loan but have been told it will set them back £4m if they wish to complete the deal.

He only scored eight goals in 35 appearances for Leicester and has been loaned out to Newcastle as well as Fenerbahce. At Monaco, the 31-year-old has scored seven goals in 14 appearances in all competitions but does not regularly start for the Ligue 1 side.

Marcus Rashford is expected to be out for a couple of months with a double stress fracture in his lower back, an injury he aggravated during an FA Cup replay against Wolverhampton Wanderers when he was brought off the bench.

Anthony Martial has been inconsistent and is struggling to find top form, while Mason Greenwood cannot be expected to play regularly and carry the forward line of one of the biggest clubs in the world at just the age of 18.

Should United fail to sign Slimani - as, let's face it, it's quite an unlikely transfer and probably won't materialise - their attention could turn to Edinson Cavani, who has been targeted by Chelsea, though the Uruguayan is thought to be set on a move to Atletico Madrid. Former Watford striker Odion Ighalo has also been linked with a loan move from Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.

United's hopes of a top four finish hang in the balance and it looks as though they will also come up short in their pursuit of Bruno Fernandes, with the latest news being that the Red Devils are reluctant to pay Sporting CP's asking price.
