Leicester City have reportedly targeted RB Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai and Filip Krastev of Bulgarian side Slavia Sofia as midfield reinforcements for next season.
Brendan Rodgers' side currently sit third in the Premier League table behind Manchester City and Liverpool and look set to secure Champions League football if and when the season continues.
In recent years the Foxes have made a habit of making astute signings for minimal fees, including the likes of the title winning duo of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, who arrived in the east Midlands for less than £2m combined.
The latest young talent to have attracted the attention of Leicester's highly-praised recruitment department is the 19-year-old midfielder Szoboszlai.
The Hungarian international's agent, Matyas Esterhazy, has suggested that Szoboszlai may not remain with RB Salzburg next season, saying: “There are some great options and England is definitely a very good one for the future," as quoted by The Sun.
Esterhazy continued: “But the main thing now is to survive the crisis and finish the season, hopefully as champions.”
Fellow teenager Krastev is also reported to be a transfer target for Leicester. The Bulgarian Under-19 international is reported to command a fee of £4.5m by the Mail, to prise him away from Slavia Sofia.
Szoboszlai has been involved in the majority of Salzburg's matches this campaign, making 29 appearances across all competitions. But the young midfielder has largely been restricted to a substitute's roll in the league, where Salzburg trail LASK by three points.
With Leicester targeting midfield reinforcements, the rumours of an exit for the Foxes' highly-rated James Maddison have understandably gained momentum. However, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder has insisted he wants to stay at Leicester despite significant interest from Manchester United.
If Leicester were to part ways with Maddison, the club's sale of Harry Maguire last summer to Manchester United has proven the Foxes will not settle for a penny below their asking price. And so, given the fee Maddison would garner, Leicester would be more than capable of signing Szoboszlai and Krastev along with a more experienced replacement for the Englishman.
