The Canadian international has scored just one goal in his last 16 appearances for the Foxes. However, Kelly believes his contribution to the team as a whole has been good enough to keep him in the team.

The striker, who has scored eight goals for Leicester this season, has developed a strong partnership with Geoff Horsfield and Kelly believes this has contributed to the teams change in fortunes.

Talking about Hume, Kelly said: 'He gives us so much more than just goals and contributes to other areas of the team.

'He just needs to keep putting himself in the right areas and he will take the chances that come his way because he is a good finisher.

'We have got a lot of good players in the squad and he is one of them.'

Meanwhile, it has been rumoured that Mark Yeates will sign a permanent contract with the Foxes at the end of the season with a transfer bid of around £1 million being suggested.
