Football League block Whitley signing

The League say that City cannot sign any new players due to financial problems, a decision which has upset Foxes boss Micky Adams.

"He is willing to play for nothing and it is not going to cost this football club anything," Adams told the clubs official website, www.lcfc.co.uk

"He wants to put himself on the map in terms of his future plans and I am still blocked, because the league say that we have got a transfer embargo placed on us.

"The league are saying you can't sign anybody and I am saying he isn't going to cost us anything and he is not contracted to another football club. It is madness."
