This has been a fairly drawn out process, and Micky Adams will be delighted to have landed his man. Adams said "we needed to replace Paul Dickov, which is a hard act to follow, but in David we have signed someone with a proven goal scoring record. He averages one goal in every two appearances for his league clubs and one in four for his country - for whom he has won 40 caps. We are hoping that he will score the goals that will put us in the promotion picture."

Having been at Barnsley on Saturday, it was clear that we needed to strengthen attacking options. David Connolly is a cracking player, who I have personally rated for some time. He is an excellent signing, and will do well at the club.
