The Bulgarian defender`s current deal is set to expire this summer, having finally made his comeback after more than 19 months out with knee problems.
"He has been out for a long time. We will consider it and talk to doctors and physios, and Tunchev himself," Eriksson told the Leicester Mercury.
"It is one of the things we have to consider. Morally we should do it. If it is with the heart yes. If it is with the brain then maybe or maybe not."
