Well, 6 games into the new season and already we have people calling for the managers head.
I honestly don't know what some fans want.
and I also think some are still stuck with the assumption that we are a top ten Premiership team.
HELLOOOOO?? wake up!!!! we were lucky enough to see a great period in our club's history.....
which was followed by the worst!
The past five years as a Leicester fan have been in turn, agonising, frustrating, heartbreaking and mindnumbingly dire at times. How much more can we cram in to our supporting lives?
It certainly is a mystery as to why we put ourselves through it all isn't it?
Anyways,back to the present.
the people who are calling for Levein Out already, have a think. WHO would you replace him with?
WHAT would you want him to do(in at least the same amount of time as Levein has had)in order to bring success back to Leicester City(if they can!)WHO would you want him to bring in and WHOwould you want him to get rid of?
It isn't as easily solved as some might think.
Having a new manager every other season isn't going to push this club forward in the right direction in my opinion.Because we will see what we've been seeing the last couple of years, players coming in and out far too frequently to settle into a squad.
Added to that it doesn't give the fans any players to 'latch onto' and make them into heroes like I did with Lennon and Izzet and further back, Lineker and Mauchlen.(And I'm sure others can go further back than that!)
So what is the solution? I really do think Levein needs THIS season. not just a part of it,but all of it.
He spent all of last season trying to sort out things from the core of the Club and then he had to slash the wage bill even further and then bring in MORE players to replace those he had let go.
It's going to take time but some fans want it to be better NOW,not in a few months. But i guess it's the fickleness of football fans in general which want to see their team competing with the best no matter what the cost in financial terms,or style of play,or chopping and changing things to get to that.
And yet we as Leicester fans should realise more than most exactly how easy it is for that to go pear-shaped!
I might start talking about the actual games in future columns! Depends on whether we have begun to score 3 goals a game.....
