"It is a cruel game and we did not deserve that," he said after the 2-1 home defeat.
"We knew we were bottom and we were determined to put things right and I felt it was a good response from the players.
"The difference is that we need 30 attempts to score these days and Tottenham had two and scored them both.
"But it concerns me because I am saying the same things after every game - we have had enough chances to win the game and we are not doing it."
