Kevin Keegans side twice came from behind to live to fight another day in their FA Cup third round tie against Leicester City.

Nicolas Anelka's brace of goals, which took his season's tally to 14, earned a replay at the Walkers Stadium on Wednesday week.

But City are still searching for that elusive victory as their winless streak now stretches to over two months.

Keegan had no complaints about the stalemate admitting neither side deserved to win.

But he lamented: "It was disappointing not to win at home, and it extends our poor run to 12 games without a win.

"We didn't reach the heights we did against Liverpool last Sunday and were at best a little bit better than average.

"It wasn't one of our better performances and we are a team that has forgotten how to win."

Leicester manager Micky Adams was asked to pinpoint the difference between the two teams.

He quipped: "I have spent nothing and have a squad which is probably worth nothing. My squad never ceases to amaze me and I could not have asked for any more of my players."

Dickov, who scored in Leicester's 3-0 victory back in November, put the Foxes ahead in the fourth minute with a delightful near post flick from Marcus Bent's right-wing cross.

City drew level in the 27th minute through a penalty from Anelka which was awarded after Billy McKinlay needlessly tripped Paul Bosvelt on the edge of the penalty area.

Disaster struck City midway through the second half when Richard Dunne failed to cut out a long throughball as Marcus Bent capitalised to score with a clinical finish from the edge of the box.

City's never-say-die spirit was quickly rewarded as they were back on parity within two minutes when Anelka headed home Robbie Fowler's right-wing corner from eight yards.

But try as City did to conjure a winner they were unable to do so, though substitute Trevor Sinclair and David Sommeil both had chances in stoppage time to have given City a long-awaited victory.
