FA Cup Third Round: Leicester City 2-2 Manchester City

Leicester played out a memorable draw against Roberto Mancini's men in front of a packed Walkers Stadium today.

Eriksson called upon new signing Sol Bamba to slot into the gap at the centre of the Foxes defence following the departure of Michael Morrison to Sheffield Wednesday earlier this week.

And, the Ivory Coast international certainly didn't dissapoint, putting in a man of the match performance that included a goal after just 50 seconds and some vital defending at the death as Tevez and co searched for a winner.

In fact, Bamba should have scored more as he continued to connect with Paul Gallagher's inch perfect flag kicks. The likes of Toure and Lescott at times couldn't cope with the aerial threat that the Foxes posed and but for some last gasp blocks, Bamba could have been a match winner today.

If the Manchester City defence looked strong, the Foxes back four were equally solid but the visitors could easily have cut the Blue Army celebrations short as first James Milner struck to level matters before Carlos Tevez put Manchester City ahead via an impressive back heel just short of the break.

Never has the phrase 'Foxes Never Quit' been more fitting as a spirited fightback earned the Foxes a well deserved equaliser in the early stages of the second half as Andy King capitalised on a rare howler from Joe Hart after the England number one dropped the ball at the Welshman's feet.

Although the Foxes will be celebrating a great result against one of the Premier League's giants tonight, things could have been very different had the visitors played to their strengths.

But credit has to go to the midfield trio of Wellen's, goal scorer King and Yuki Abe who dominated play in the centre of the pitch for large spells.

The Foxes will now travel to the City of Manchester Stadium with their dream of a magical trip to Wembley still very much alive.
