Wesolowski could become Gudjonssons predecessor.
Today James Wesolowski signed an extended contract keeping him at Leicester for a further season.

The deal gives Kelly more options in what will seem to be a weakened central midfield in the absence of fans favourite, Joey Gudjonsson (who picked up several awards at the team awards evening).

The deal also shows Kelly's intention to add stability to the teams future. And, with Wesolowski performing well earlier in the season, Kelly will be sure to consider the youngster as a possible predecessor to the popular Joey Gudjonsson come the start of the new season.

Despite suffering a broken leg during pre season, Wesolowski made his way into the first team only to suffer further torment with another broken leg. The player is currently out of action but is hoping to be involved in the teams pre season schedule in July.

Kelly pointed out that the Australian is still only young but is looking forward to the teenager playing a role in the teams bid for improvement next season.

'We look forward to him playing a part next season, although we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that he is still only a teenager.'

The deal keeps the 18 year old at the club until the end of the 2007/8 season.
