Wellens: Home Wins Essential

After picking up eight points from the opening five games in the Championship, only one lapse in form, Monday night's 1-0 away loss at the hands of leaders Newcastle, has dampened an otherwise promising start to life back in the Championship.

Talking of the opening month, former Doncaster midfielder, Wellens said: 'We have still done okay. We have had three tough away games and after the break we have two home games coming up and if we get six points from these two home games, then that will have beeen a good start.

'If you want to be up there, every team needs to have good home form. It is very rare you find a team top of the league when it struggles at home and wins away.

'What we have to do is make sure we are difficult to beat at home, every home win is vital.'
Wellens added.

The Foxes play host to hate figure, Ian Holloway's Blackpool on September 12th and Nigel Pearson's men will be determined to make amends for the disappointing display at St James Park.
