Top spot beckons if Foxes can beat Yeovil

The Foxes play their game in hand and a victory will put the home side on 31 points and top of the table. Scunthorpe currently lead from Leeds (2nd), Millwall (3rd), and the MK Dons (4th).

Nigel Pearson has ben dealt a blow with the loss of Patrick Kisnorbo. The defender went off injured against Steveage on Saturday. He could be aout for half a dozen games. Kisnorbo has not long returned to action after a 6 month lay off.

Pearson looks ahead to possibly taking top spot but he's wary of a Yeovil side that have recently won away at Oldham.

"It would be nice to go top of the table and I don't think we should be afraid of talking about that," he said.

"The pressure is always on us because expectation is so high, and we have to handle it.

"We have talked about that from day one and this will continue throughout the season.

"So it is important we go out there and get the performance right and, as always, the most important thing is the result."

A draw would be enough for City to go into the second automatic promotion spot, but nothing less than three points is the aim although Pearson is not taking Yeovil lightly in the first-ever meeting between the sides.

He said: "Potentially, we can win and go top but, in their last away game, they won at Oldham. You can't afford to be complacent, but it is a big opportunity for us and I fully expect to do our best to take it."

Leicester will be without Patrick Kisnorbo for the League One clash with Yeovil.

A win would see the Foxes return to the top of the table but they must do without the Australian defender, who has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a knee injury in the FA Cup first-round victory over Stevenage.

Marc Edworthy is expected to continue at right-back after making his debut on Saturday while DJ Campbell and Paul Dickov put themselves in contention for a place after successful comebacks from injury.

On-loan Arsenal defender Kerrea Gilbert is expected to make the squad despite not fully recovering from the illness that ruled him out at the weekend.

Meanwhile, long-term absentees Stephen Clemence (Achilles), Bruno N'Gotty (Achilles) and James Wesolowski (ankle) are a few months away from a return.

Yeovil manager Russell Slade will be boosted by the return of on-loan Stockport County defender Gareth Owen.

Owen was ineligible for Saturday's FA Cup tie against his parent club, which ended 1-1 thanks to an equaliser from skipper Terry Skiverton.

Skiverton and Terrell Forbes returned to the starting line-up in the absence of Owen and Aaron Brown.

Brown, who missed the Stockport clash with a hip injury, could be also be in contention to play at the Walkers Stadium.

The match also marked the Yeovil debut of on-loan Millwall striker Gifton Noel-Williams who is expected to continue in attack.

On-loan Peterborough forward Scott Rendell started on the bench but was introduced as Noel-Williams' 70th minute replacement and is pushing for a starting spot.
