The Leicester Lineup That Should Start Against AEK Athens

With qualification into the last 32 of the Europa League already secured, the only thing left to decide in Group G for Leicester is who will take top spot.

With a better head-to-head record against Braga, Brendan Rodgers' team need only match their result against Zorya Lunansk, the Ukrainian side who surprised the Foxes with a 1-0 win last time out.

Goals at the weekend from Ayoze Perez and the ever-reliable Jamie Vardy saw Leicester maintain their place in the Premier League's top four, but it's likely that the latter will be rested ahead of a particularly packed Christmas schedule.

Vardy isn't likely to be the only one given a breather, so here's how Rodgers may look to line Leicester up come kick off time.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Kasper Schmeichel (GK): Leicester's Mr Reliable is one man who doesn't take kindly to the idea of rotation, so it's likely the Dane will be between the sticks once more.

Wes Morgan (CB): Reminiscing about Leicester's 2015/16 title winning campaign is what keeps Morgan occupied these days, with the veteran defender taking on a more bit-part role. Still, he needs to keep his eye in and should start here.

Jonny Evans (CB): The Northern Irishman claimed this week that teammate Wesley Fofana can become 'one of the best centre-backs in the world', but he'll have to make do without him and Caglar Soyuncu this time out,

Christian Fuchs (CB): Seens to be enjoying his new found role on the left of a central three, and is likely to get the nod again..

2. Wing-Backs & Midfielders

Marc Albrighton (RWB): The 31-year-old continues to defy expectations, proving to be an increasingly valuable asset to Rodgers' side.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM): The Nigerian returned to the starting lineup last week after several months on the sidelines. A precautionary substitution just before the hour mark should see him given the full 90 this time around.

Dennis Praet (CM): A rest for Youri Tielemans should see Praet return to the starting lineup, as one Belgian replaces another.

James Justin (LWB): The 22-year-old's versatility has been exceptionally useful this season in the absence of Timothy Castagne and Ricardo Pereira. Will be confident of keeping his place if he maintains his form.

3. Forwards

Cengiz Under (RW): The Turk has looked lively in the sporadic minutes he's been afforded this season, and will see this as another opportunity to show he's worth more starts.

Kelechi Iheanacho (ST): Perhaps unfortunate that Jamie Vardy has remained as relentlessness in front of goal as he has. Rarely gets a sniff n the Premier League, but has scored three in five in this competition.

Harvey Barnes (LW): The 23-year-old continues to impress on the left hand side, with his pace and willingness to get in behind a constant threat. A good performance at the expense of Ayoze Perez would do nicely here.
