Leicester Manager Craig Levein:

"I think we have to have a look at ourselves, and hopefully, if we can get this season out of the road, there will be the opportunity to change things a little bit and bring in a different mentality. Winning means more than playing well.

"At this minute in time I am fed up saying we are playing well, we should have won the game and we didn't get the points deserved. We have got to change the mental attitude of the players.

"We have now got to get a win on Tuesday night against Derby so we can dismiss all this talk about a relegation battle. We will have to play well, take our chances and not do anything silly at the back.

"We created numerous good goalscoring chances but we didn't kill Sunderland off when we had the chance to.

"Alan Maybury had a smashing game today and I thought he was one of our best players again. But most of the team played well and there were only one or two who I was disappointed with.

"It was a great start to the game and we had three glorious chances to score. At this level you can't afford to pass up these chances and we did that.

"Sunderland got back into the game and then they caught us with another set piece which is extremely disappointing.

"We are going to have to learn to close games out because on form, the way the team is playing, the amount of chances we are creating and suchlike we should be nowhere near the relegation zone.

"We were as good as Sunderland today but we just haven't got the mental strength that they have got. We will do something about that in the summer."

Levein also revealed some bad news on the injury front ahead of Tuesday night's home clash against local rivals Derby.

"Mark de Vries had to come off in the early stages with a groin strain. We have got another game on Tuesday night and he's not going to make that. It is also doubtful that he will make next Sunday."

Sunderland Manager Mick McCarthy:

"We've just been analysing the game and we said 'what the hell are we analysing the game for? We won, we're promoted, sod it!' and that's the way I feel at the moment.
