The former Tottenham and England striker sustained the injury in Leicesters first game of the season against Southampton and after missing the next two games returned for the fixture with Aston Villa.
"Les hurt the knee again during the game against Waterford and will be seeing a specialist today," Foxes boss Micky Adams told the club's official website.
"We will wait and see what he has to say."
