Striker Search Makes Progress

Due to Matty Fryatts ankle injury, Kelly has only three first team strikers to select for action. And, with a busy schedule of seven games in 21 days, the City manager could find himself in trouble when it comes to selecting a healthy frontline.

Assistant manager Mike Stowell revealed earlier this week that the club were in the process of searching for a loan signing and today Kelly has indicated that the Foxes are on the verge of securing a deal.

'We have looked at bringing possibly a couple of players in on loan, but we will have to wait and see what happens.'

Kelly is hoping that any new signings will be available for selection in time for Saturday's home fixture against Southampton.

'At the moment I can't say if it will happen before the weekend or not.'

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the Foxes made a profit of £1.6million at the end of last season in comparison to a loss of £3.5million the season before.

When talking about this news, Chief Executive, Tim Davies said 'Although the company made a profit of £1.6million, this was largely through the sale of David Connolly.'
