Scunthorpe v Leicester

Last updated : 11 March 2011 By BBC Sport

Scunthorpe have been boosted by the news that Michael O'Connor, sidelined since January with a knee injury, could be fit enough to start Saturday's game.Paul Reid is back in the squad, but Joe Murphy (ankle), Garry Thompson (groin) and Cliff Byrne (back) are still out.

Leicester City defender Jeffrey Bruma is likely to miss out with a groin injury, as is Patrick Van Aanholt, who has a torn thigh muscle.

Striker Steve Howard has an ankle problem and is also a doubt.

MATCH PREVIEW

Leicester's defeat against Norwich in midweek - their first home loss under Sven-Goran Eriksson - was a major blow to their play-off chances and means the Foxes are now without a win in four matches.

City have been transformed since Eriksson's arrival and certainly looked like promotion material even in defeat against leaders QPR at the weekend. But the loss of that game and Tuesday's reverse has left them seven points behind the top six.

Relegation-threatened Scunthorpe, who have never beaten Leicester, have picked up priceless points in recent weeks but also suffered a setback last time out, losing 2-1 at Barnsley. Iron boss Ian Baraclough described their display as "careless".

United were not helped by wins for Sheffield United, the team immediately below them, as well as Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough, the two teams immediately above them. They do, however, have a game in hand on Palace.
