Quinn Shows Interest In Midfielder Maybury

Rob Kelly has confirmed Niall Quinn's interest in the Irish International, Alan Maybury. The player signed for City 18 months ago under ex manager Craig Levein. The expected deal will see Maybury sold for around £200,000.

Maybury's future at The Walkers Stadium has been put into jeopardy after the Right Winger did not feature in the Foxes 3-1 home win over Ipswich Town on Saturday.

And, with a healthy level of competition for places in the team, Maybury could be forced into a move to the Black Cats. Josh Low is one player who looks to have forced Maybury out of the equation and onto the side lines. Low seems to have cemented his place in the team on the right hand side after two solid performances against Burnley and Ipswich.

When discussing the situation, Kelly said: 'I have been informed by our chief executive, Tim Davies, that we had received an approach for Alan from Sunderland. In the meantime, Alan remains to be a Leicester City Player.'

Sunderland boss Quinn hopes to secure Maybury's signature before the weekend in an attempt to rescue his injury riddled defence.
