Player Ratings v Plymouth

Last updated : 09 May 2005 By Mark Maher
Lars Hirschfeld – 7

Kicking was a bit dodgy at the start when he kept punting them out for a throw in. However, he settled down after that, although he wasn’t tested much.

Alan Maybury – 6

Didn’t get forward as well compared to his two previous games. Distribution was a bit wayward at times, however, part of that was down to having no wide player supporting him.

Darren Kenton – 6

Apart from one casual mistake that almost let in Taylor score the first half, he was solid again and won almost everything in the air.

Patrick McCarthy – 5

Almost sent off after committing a number of fouls. Substituted to avoid the inevitable from happening.

Alan Sheehan – 7*

His debut resulted in a promising performance at left back. Composed on the ball and has a sweet left foot.

Joey Gudjonsson – 5

A typically erratic performance from Gudjonsson. Winning the ball, then wasting it by losing possession cheaply.

Stephen Hughes – 5

Didn’t do much with the ball when in possession. Although movement around him was a bit too static.

Jordan Stewart – 4

Didn’t offer anything going forward. Distribution was poor and was dispossessed easily on a number of occasions.

Stefan Moore – 4

Anonymous throughout.

Mark de Vries – 4

Failed to make any sort of impact.

David Connolly – 5

Didn’t receive any sort of service.

Substitutes:

Matt Heath – 6

Replaced McCarthy and did what was required of him.

Richard Stearman – 6

Dion Dublin - 5
