Player Ratings v Leeds

Last updated : 02 May 2005 By Mark Maher
Ian Walker – 8

Wasn’t severely tested, but produced a fantastic penalty save from Marlon King to preserve City’s clean sheet.

Alan Maybury – 8

Fantastic again down the right, both attacking and defending.

Darren Kenton – 8

Despite being under 6ft, he won plenty in the air and put some crunching tackles in.

Patrick McCarthy – 8

The £100,000 splashed out on him seems to be fantastic business. Won everything in the air and marshalled the back line well.

Jordan Stewart – 7

Defensively good, but his service in to the box was indifferent again.

Stephen Hughes – 7

A lively performance on the right, but his lack of pace doesn’t get the best out of him in that position.

Gareth Williams – 7

Worked hard in midfield and supported the front two well.

Lilian Nalis – 8

Another good performance where he battled well and won most things in the air. Good distribution too.

Danny Tiatto – 6

Sometimes a bit of a liability when he drifts in midfield and loses the ball. Not as effective as he was against Derby.

David Connolly – 8

Staring to score goals on a regular basis, which is a result of getting in to the box more. His all round play was excellent again. Linked up well with Dublin.

Dion Dublin – 8

Held the ball up well and caused Leeds a number of problems in the air.

Substitutes:

Keith Gillespie – 6

Joey Gudjonsson – 6

Stefan Moore - 5
