Pearson praise for Cambiasso

The former Argentina international joined the Foxes a fortnight ago on a one-year deal following his release earlier in the summer from Inter Milan where he had spent the previous 10 years.

The 34-year-old then sat on the bench for his first game with City a couple days later as Pearson's side held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium.

The intervening international break has allowed Cambiasso to approach full fitness and he is now in line to make his debut on Saturday for the visit to Stoke, although may again start as a substitute.

Expressing his delight with what he has seen so far from Cambiasso, Pearson said: "He is doing very well.

"He talked about his English not being proficient, but he's a very good communicator.

"That's always a big plus when you have a player of his experience and quality.

"He's had nothing but a positive effect and that is testament to his own ability and character as a person

We're very pleased."

Pearson, meanwhile, has dismissed suggestions of striker Chris Wood joining Wolves on loan.

With the window open for lower-league clubs to make loan deals, New Zealand international Wood has been linked with a move to Molineux.

But Pearson said: "I'm not aware of anything regarding Chris.

"There have been suggestions of him moving elsewhere, but why would I loan a player out?"
