Pearson post Tranmere

"I am disappointed the run has come to an end, but let's start another one and move on. We were dangerous throughout the game and had chances, but Rovers caused us a few problems and we didn't get the bounce when we needed it.

"But let's get it in perspective. We have had spells during the run when we have had some fortune, so I can't begrudge them the win. They worked very hard and probably deserved it.

"I never like losing games but it is important we keep doing the things that got us into this position in the first place.

"I am very confident we will see the job through."

Both sides put together decent passages of play and we looked dangerous on the break and got into some encouraging positions.

"I always knew it was going to be a tough game. They have got the second-best home record in the league and you don't get that without warranting it.

"We contributed to our own downfall with poor defending at the goals. For the first, we did not close the ball down and, for the second, we were caught in possession in our own third. On a pitch like that, you can't do that.

"My players have worked very hard during this run and they deserve credit for that."
