Pearson Collects Manager of the Month Award

With four straight Championship wins in January, it comes as no suprise that the Foxes boss has taken the Manager of the Month accolade.

Whilst Pearson winning the award seems like good news initially, the Foxes faithful will be all too aware of the almost inevitable curse associated with picking up the title.

Indeed City have already showed a startling drop in form - losing their last two fixtures to Peterborough United and Huddersfield Town respectively, and the fans will be hoping their team can regain momentum and set off on another winning streak.

After all, with Saturday's home fixture with Blackburn Rovers postponed due to the visitor's involvement in the FA Cup - the Foxes could end the weekend six points adrift of second-placed Hull City.

Meanwhile, Chris Wood missed out on the Player of the Month award - with Watford striker Matej Vydra claiming the prize.

There was some good news to savour regarding the New Zealand striker however when Alan Birchenall last night confirmed on BBC Radio Leicester that Wood will be available for selection when the Foxes host Charlton Athletic at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
