Pearson - Room For Improvement

Last updated : 23 November 2009 By Joe Harris

After a dominant display, the Foxes finally forced the breakthrough with seconds of the clash remaining after Andy King forced the ball over the line after a goal mouth scramble to take all three points.

Although Pearson's men won the match at the death, he remains confident that there is room for improvement: 'I think we weren't quite at our best and the biggest positive for me is that there is alot of scope for improvement from us.' Pearson told the Leicester Mercury.

'I think that the important thing is that we tried to win the game throughout. I am sure they (Plymouth) would have been happy with a point and they might be dissapointed they didn't get one but, in all honesty, I think our players deserved to get the three points.' he added.

King, returning to action after featuring in Wales 3-0 win over Scotland, capped off an excellent seven days with his first goal for the Foxes this season. Talking of the midfielder, Pearson said: 'He got 11 last year so I know he can score goals. It has been a great week for Andy, he has captained his country and scored the winner today so it is happy days for him.'
