"Cardiff are in a similar position to ourselves and they will be seeing this as a vital match. The important thing from our point of view is we need to be aggressive, on the front foot and take the game to them.
"The fixture was always going to be a big game for us, but it is even more so now.
"It's an opportunity for us to finally put this relegation talk to bed and I think that we need three points to do that."
"We are on 49 points now and I think 52 will be enough," he said. "Some of the teams have still got to play each other.
"Some have only three games left and it would mean them winning two in a row, which they haven't done."
Failure to beat Cardiff would increase relegation fears for the Foxes, especially with their next game away at league leaders Sunderland.
Levein will be boosted by the return of skilful midfielder Stephen Hughes after he served a one-match suspension for his dismissal at Brighton.
Levein has also indicated there could be a number of changes for tonight’s game.
