The Bulgarian defender was rested for the top-of-the-table clash at Oldham on Saturday after returning from international duty.

Michael Morrison was recalled to the side for the 1-1 draw at Boundary Park but it remains to be seen whether manager Nigel Pearson will stick with the 20-year-old.

Patrick Kisnorbo is also in contention for a centre-back spot after returning from the knee injury that had sidelined him since April. The Australian was a half-time substitute for Morrison at Oldham.

Left-back Joe Mattock is fit once again following two months out with ankle ligament damage and veteran striker Paul Dickov has recovered from a back problem.

Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen is pondering changes.

Two defeats in a row have brought the Saddlers back down to earth with a bang after a five-match unbeaten run, and Mullen was especially disappointed with the way his side surrended a 2-0 half-time lead at the weekend to go down 3-2 against Hartlepool.

Jabo Ibehre overcame a knee injury to feature against the Pools and he is again likely to partner Michael Ricketts in attack.

Goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin could possibly come into contention to start, although Mullen may opt to stick with Clayton Ince's experience at the Walkers Stadium.

Mark Bradley is pushing for a recall along with fellow midfielder Marco Reich, while forwards Troy Deeney and Ishmel Demontagnac are also on the fringes of selection.

Midfielder Sofiene Zaaboub continues to struggle with a groin problem.
