Injury worries for City

Manager Rob Kelly is facing an anxious wait on the news of injury to 6 City stars.

Williams: injury concern
Gareth Williams, substituted at half time of our dismal 1-0 home defeat to Burnley because of a knock to the knee, is a huge doubt to be fit for the match. Williams, signed from rivals Nottingham Forest 2 years ago, is a doubt for the match.

His partner in the middle of the City midfield, ex-West Brom midfielder Andy Johnson, is also struggling with injury. He picked up a slight calf injury in the Burnley match. However, he was back in training this morning and he hopefully will be fit and raring to go.

Kelly said of the injury news "Gareth is obviously a doubt. Andy has got a bit of a calf problem, but he has trained this morning. We shall have to wait and see."

Darren Kenton, signed from Southampton this summer, and ex-Walsall hitman Matty Fryatt, are both also struggling with injury. Kenton has a slight ankle injury, while Fryatt is suffering from a gash to the head. "Darren got a bit of a kick on Tuesday night, but we are hopeful that he will be ok."

Another player suffering from recent injuries, young Aussie midfielder James Wesolowski, is making good progress from his latest set-back, a thigh injury. "James is making good progress following his thigh injury. It was pleasing to see him put a full session in today and we may have a behind closed doors game next week. That will allow him to get some much needed match time under his belt" Kelly said of the young midfielder. Wesolowski, still only 18, has already suffered from 2 broken legs in his young career.

Weso: back in training

The last City player suffering from injury is Scottish international goalkeeper Rab Douglas. He is still lacking match fitness, so ex-Bradford man Paul Henderson will continue to deputise.
