Injury Woes

The Leicester boss is struggling to find whom to pick for his starting eleven for the visit of the Eagles this weekend. The squad has been hit with injuries and Kelly looks set to be without six members of his first team squad.

Gareth Williams : Out of action
Gareth Williams was the latest player to join the injured list, after he picked up an ankle injury during the 2-1 victory over Leeds on Tuesday night. The midfielder now looks to set to be out of action for a number of weeks.

Other players out of action are players such as Matty Fryatt, Paddy McCarthy, James Wesolowski, Andy Johnson and Darren Kenton.

Kelly described McCarthy as having, “no chance”, Fryatt as needing, “another couple of weeks” and Wesolowski, Johnson and Kenton as “doubtful”. The situation has now left Kelly short of options going into the game against Palace.

“None of the injuries could have been avoided. We will just get on with it”, Kelly said.

“Normally, I would like to have my team for the weekend in my mind at this point, but at the moment we are not in the position to do that”, Kelly told the official site.

The Foxes go into the weekend's game full of confidence following two consecutive victories against Southampton and Leeds, and hope to extend their run to three against the Eagles, when they visit the Walkers Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Kelly also confirmed that Carl Asaba was still training with the club on a non-contract basis, and will be staying for a further week or so.
