After Northern Ireland had beaten England last time out all eyes were turned on their World Cup encounter with lowly Wales. In a pulsating game Wales eventually ran out 3-2 winners. This was Wales first win since 2003, for two teams with little to play for it was a fantastic match. Sven and England take note!

Ryan Smith got a run out with the England under 20's as they held Holland to a 2-2 draw at Burnley. The young winger was involved in one of England's goals. Peter Gilbert was in action for the Welsh under 21's who went down 4-0 to Germany.
