Ferdinand scan proves fruitful

Ferdinand was substituted at half time after falling awkwardly when scoring the Foxes second goal and it was feared that he may have sustained a serious injury, but X-rays have shown no damage and he could be fit for next weekend's clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

"The swelling in the knee joint was connected to some old cartilage and the X-rays showed there was no fracture in his shinbone and that was something we had feared," Leicester boss Micky Adams told the club's official website.

"So all in all it is good news and we are hopeful that Les will now be available for the game at Chelsea on Saturday."
