Ferdinand Gets The Plaudits

The 37-year-old came off the substitutes bench to score with a dramatic last minute header at the Reebok to give Leicester a share of the spoils and lift them out of the bottom three in the Premier League table.

"If you had seen him training yesterday morning you would have left him on the bench as well," Adams said after the 2-2 draw.

"I left him on for 90 minutes against Newcastle when he was begging me to take him off. But I couldn't see him playing two games in quick succession.

"The same applied to Billy McKinlay. He was excellent against Newcastle. One thing we needed today was fresh legs.

"Les deserves all the plaudits he gets. Once a scorer always a scorer. It's an instinct."
