Desperate DJ Apologises

Talking during his time on loan at Ian Holloway's Blackpool, Campbell said he did not want to play for Leicester and would rather be 'anywhere else'.

During the summer Ian Holloway was very interested in signing Campbell on a permanent basis but the players outrageous wage demands proved a stumbling block in the deal.

The former Birmingham striker failed to find a club and remained at City, featuring heavily for the reserves before Pearson handed the 27-year-old a first team appearance at Coventry on Saturday, his first such appearance for 10 months.

However, Campbell's apology will not be taken lightly by many Foxes fans, especially when he insists his words were taken out of context.

Talking to the Leicester Mercury, Campbell said: 'All I said was that I had no future at Leicester.

'I didn't say I didn't want to come back and I didn't criticise the gaffer, the staff or the club. I didn't say that at all.

'I hold my hands up and admit I did say I didn't have a future at Leicester. That is how I felt at the time. As everyone knows, things weren't quite working out for me.'

To make such a half heartened apology to the fans will not earn DJ any respect, but a winner against Derby in a week may just earn forgiveness.
