The Foxes are four points above the Premier League relegation zone and travel to Stoke on Saturday still looking for their first away league win of the season
Drinkwater is hoping to shake off a knee injury which forced him out of Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth and after a poor title defence so far the England midfielder believes they will turn things around
"The league form in general has been a bit up and down and it's something that we are trying to put right and climb the league," he said, with the Foxes 14th, following one win in their last seven league games
"Form comes and it goes, but what we are doing is working hard to put it right
"The gaffer has a good mentality here of when the game is gone, you just prepare for the next one and that's what we're doing
That's all we can keep doing - if it's not going right, make sure it does go right in the next game.
"We don't want to be where we are in the league
We're working hard as a team, and that's the staff included, to put it right
We know what we've got in the dressing room and we know what we're capable of - everyone saw it last year.
"It's just about trying to stay positive and turning it around as fast as we can
We've shown glimpses in the Champions League and in the game against Manchester City, so we need more performances like that."
Drinkwater missed the three games before Bournemouth through suspension and, after watching Leicester's 4-2 win over Manchester City from the stands, wants them to repeat their performance on Saturday.
He told LCFC TV: "The more games we play like Manchester City the better
The display against Manchester City was top drawer and if we can replicate that against any team, I'm sure we'll be looking at a positive result
"It'll be huge (to get the three points)
It depends how the other team sets up and how fast they start, but that's something we'll be working on in training
Stoke City are not an easy team to break down so it's another test."
