Leicester City today released the following statement:

'We can confirm that the club has been actively looking at methods of generating new investment into the football club.

Discussions have been held with a number of interested parties and the board is currently considering a variety of options...'

This statement is sure to create a further explosion of rumours involving business tycoon Milan Mandaric.

The former Portsmouth chairman brought great success to Pompey during his time at the club and made them the Premiership high flyers they are today.

Rumours linking Mandaric (worth £25 million) with a bid for the Foxes started when he declared his interest to invest into a Championship club at the begginning of this season.

At the time, Mandaric described the chances of him making a move for Leicester City as '50/50'.
