Leicester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has signed West Bromwich Albion striker Roman Bednar on loan until January.Bednar, who was also wanted by Hull City, has fallen out of favour at the Hawthorns this term, making just three appearances in the Premier League.

The Czech Republic international, 27, scored 30 goals in 85 games for the Baggies having joined for £2.3m in June 2008 after a successful loan spell.

He becomes Eriksson's fifth signing since he took over in October and is expected to go straight into the City squad to face Nottingham Forest at the Walkers Stadium on Monday.

Bednar's arrival will further increase speculation surrounding striker Matt Fryatt's supposed imminent departure from the Walkers Stadium.

Fryatt's chances have been limited since Nigel Pearson left the club in the summer and he has been linked with both Pearson's new club Hull and Reading.
