City Boss Hopeful Of Extending Cunningham and Naughton Loans

Tottenham's Kyle Naughton and Manchester City's Greg Cunningham have both impressed Eriksson during their time at the club, so much so that they have cemented regular first team places.

Both players are set to return to their Premier League clubs in January. However, Eriksson is hopeful that he can extend both players loan spells at the Walkers Stadium until the end of the season.

The City boss said: 'Greg Cunningham, almost for sure, will stay for the rest of the season.

'I have spoken to Greg and spoken to Roberto Mancini, and both are happy. It is only a question between the clubs, but I can't foresee a problem. That will happen almost for sure.

'In January, I expect Kyle Naughton's loan to become a season-long one as well.'

Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether Curtis Davies will stay with City beyond the end of his loan spell in January.

Eriksson said: 'Curtis wants to wait until January, but I wouldn't be suprised if we get him as well. It all depends whether a big club comes in to buy him. We have to wait and see on that one.'

Should the City boss fail to extend the loan spells of his young stars, his hand will most certainly be forced in the January transfer window. And, the Foxes backline will have a complete new look come the start of the new year.
