Bassett: We Eased Off

Potters defender John Halls' own goal gave The Foxes a deserved lead twenty minutes into the game at The Walkers Stadium but once in front caretaker boss Bassett felt the players took their foot off the gas - gifting the visitors an equaliser just before the half-time interval.

"For the first 20 minutes I thought we were magnificent, but once we had scored it looked as though the players thought they had done enough and took the foot off the pedal and let in Stoke with a soft goal," he said after the 1-1 draw.

"It was definitely a question of showing a bit of softness and not killing them off. I think perhaps that is because we have not got a winning mentality yet.

"We should have kept up the momentum and gone for the second, but instead we eased off."
