Millwall vs Leicester City

14th August 2004, 3.00pm

The New Den

Millwall have not had the most auspicious start to the season, having drawn at Plymouth and lost at home to Wigan. They have yet to score agoal. This means they will be doubly up for a game that rekindlesDennis Wise's relationship with Leicester City. He will come in forstick from the Leicester City faithful. That said, he has in his timebeen a quality footballer, and the only reason they didn't finish in theplayoffs last year, was probably the hangover from winning the FA Cup semifinal. As a result, Millwall are due to appear in the UEFA Cup thisyear.

Millwall's chairman has made HUGE strides in ridding his club of the hooligan element it was famous for, and should be applauded for that. He has also recently announced that he will be stepping down at the end of thisseason. The team will want to perform for the man.

Millwall seem to be struggling. They will not want to face Leicester City atthis particular time, but it will probably result in them improving their performance. I think it won't be enough however. They have lost some key players this summer (e.g. Cahill), and seem not to have replaced with the same calibre of squad player. I can't see anything other than a Leicester win!
