Leicester City Eye Summer Swoop for RB Salzburg's Hee-Chan Hwang

RB Salzburg's Hee-Chan Hwang is currently being monitored by Leicester City while they ponder a summer move for the South Korean player.

The renowned scouting department at Leicester have noted the dribbling and technical ability in tight spaces that Hwang possesses. This season has been fruitful for the forward as the 23-year-old has really showcased his all-round game, with a balanced output of nine goals and seven assists in all competitions.

According to The Athletic, it is not just the Foxes who are interested in Hwang. A collection of Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on the situation including EvertonWolves and Brighton

RB Salzburg v KRC Genk: Group E - UEFA Champions League

Leicester are believed to be looking for reinforcements up front as they look to secure their Champions League spot, with Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho their current striker options.

RB lost Takumi Minamino and Erling Haaland to Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund respectively already this transfer period. Obviously, with half the season left, the club is desperate not to lose another one of their key players this window. Unlike Haaland and Minamino, Hwang doesn't have a transfer release clause so management at the club will be hoping to get as much value from the transfer as possible.

Jesse March's RB Salzburg wowed the football world with a series of brilliant performances in the Champions League group stage this term. Unfortunately for the Austrian team, it shone a light on the team's star players and they've already seen two of their standout performers leave in January.

Salzburg's dynamism, speed and technical skill impressed fans who had not seen the Die Mozartstädter in action before. The standout performance was the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, which announced three players on the European stage. Even though they lost, the manner in which they challenged the European Champions, playing electric football, left a mark with fans.

Now that two of Salzburg's key players have left, there will be a reliance on Hwang to deliver for the rest of the season. Given what we've seen already this season from Hwang, 90min expects a big output from the South Korean.
