Leicester 3-1 Manchester United: Player ratings as Iheanacho brace sends Foxes into FA Cup semi-fina

Leicester City will face Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals after a Kelechi Iheanacho brace helped them secure a brilliant 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

After a fairly even start, United gifted Leicester their opening goal just before the half-hour mark. Fred was the player at fault, under-hitting his pass to Dean Henderson and allowing Iheanacho to round the goalkeeper and tap home.

Just before the break United drew level against the run of play when Mason Greenwood lashed Paul Pogba's deflected cross into the back of the net.

Early in the second half Youri Tielemans then restored Leicester's advantage, waltzing his way through midfield and smashing the ball into the bottom corner. The visitors struggled to muster a response and Leicester put the game beyond all doubt with an Iheanacho header 12 minutes from time.

Here are your Foxes and United player ratings from the King Power Stadium...

LEICESTER RATINGS

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Soyuncu played extremely well | OLI SCARFF/Getty Images

Kasper Schmeichel (GK) - 6/10 - Rarely called into action. When he was he made no mistakes.

Caglar Soyuncu (CB) - 8/10 - Made a few important interceptions to deny United's forwards. One second-half tackle was exceptional.

Jonny Evans (CB) - 7/10 - Passed the ball efficiently and was solid at the back. No one in his team completed more long balls.

Wesley Fofana (CB) - 8/10 - Defended superbly, completing three tackles and impressing in the air.

2. Wing-backs & midfielders

Tielemans was excellent for Leicester | Alex Pantling/Getty Images

Marc Albrighton (RWB) - 7/10 - Worked ridiculously hard but also showed some occasional quality on the ball.

Youri Tielemans (CM) - 9/10 - Ran the game for Leicester from deep and also scored an excellent goal. Few midfielders in the Premier League are better.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM) - 8/10 - Broke up the play effectively, stifling United's control in midfield.

Timothy Castagne (LWB) - 6/10 - A few shaky moments in the first but he mostly did okay.

Ayoze Perez (AM) - 6/10 - Drifted in and out of the game but went within inches of scoring a great goal in the first half.

3. Forwards

Iheanacho continued his scoring streak | OLI SCARFF/Getty Images

Jamie Vardy (ST) - 7/10 - His runs were excellent as usual but his finishing was terrible again. Needs to start scoring.

Kelechi Iheanacho (ST) - 9/10 - Very good. Varied up his positioning to keep United guessing, scored a brace and rarely gave the ball away. Close to a perfect ten...

4. Substitutes

Praet returned after his injury | James Williamson - AMA/Getty Images

Dennis Praet - 6/10 - Good to see him back after an extended layoff.

Hamza Choudhury - 6/10 - Added some bite in the closing stages.

MANCHESTER UNITED RATINGS

5. Goalkeeper & defenders

Maguire returned to his former club | Alex Pantling/Getty Images

Dean Henderson (GK) - 6/10 - Little he could do about the goals. His long passing was accurate.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) - 6/10 - Made sure Castagne had no joy but Vardy did manage to get in behind him a few times.

Victor Lindelof (CB) - 5/10 - Struggled to track Iheanacho when he drops deep. A few shaky moments at the back as well.

Harry Maguire (CB) - 5/10 - Far from perfect. Beaten far too easily by both of Leicester's strikers. Maybe felt the pressure on his return to the King Power Stadium?

Alex Telles (LB) - 6/10 - Looked dangerous at times with his buccaneering runs. Perhaps unfortunate to be substituted on the hour mark.

6. Midfielders

Van de Beek was involved in United's first half equaliser | Alex Pantling/Getty Images

Nemanja Matic (CM) - 5/10 - Pretty wayward in his passing. Can have few complaints about being substituted.

Fred (CM) - 4/10 - Had a nightmare first half, giving the ball away several times including once during the buildup to Leicester's opener. Also defended feebly for Tielemans' goal.

Donny van de Beek (CM) - 5/10 - Showed good awareness to create United's equaliser. After that he struggled to impact things - the story of his career so far.

7. Forwards

Greenwood scored for United | OLI SCARFF/Getty Images

Mason Greenwood (RW) - 7/10 - Took his much-needed goal very well. Sometimes ran down dead ends.

Anthony Martial (ST) - 4/10 - Poor. Did not manage a single shot. Needed to do more.

Paul Pogba (LW) - 6/10 - Created his team's goal with a deflected cross. Did not look fully fit but still influenced things on occasion.

8. Substitutes

Not even Bruno could inspire a United resurgence | OLI SCARFF/Getty Images

Bruno Fernandes - 6/10 - Sometimes overplayed when he came on. Went very close from a free kick.

Scott McTominay - 5/10 - Missed a header which allowed Iheanacho to grab his second goal.

Edinson Cavani - 5/10 - Failed to have an impact.

Luke Shaw - 5/10 - Strange sub as Telles was doing fine. He did little after coming on.

Amad Diallo - N/A
