Kelly: Time To Get Serious!

City are near to completing their pre-season preparations and manager Rob Kelly knows that it is time for the serious work to begin ahead of their season opener at Kenilworth Road, Luton on Saturday.

Leicester have completed their six friendly matches without defeat and Kelly knows this is a vital confidence boost for the team as they prepare for the season to begin. However, Kelly has spotted several weaknesses in his teams pre-season performances:

'What we do know for the new season is that we have to 'turn up' for every game if we are to compete. We got a warning sign in our game
against Lincoln when we went 3-0 down in the first half to illistrate the point... We can't afford to do that when the real action begins and I don't think we will.'

Despite the negativity of injuries to Rab Douglas (shoulder injury) and James Wesolowski (thigh strain) Kelly revealed that he was pleased with his teams achievement over the past weeks.

Kelly explained: 'We are where we wanted to be at this stage, but the real work starts now. The excitement now mounts towards Saturday.'

Leicesters opener against Luton at Kenilworth road will be aired live on Sky Sports this Saturday, kick-off is at 12:30pm.

Meanwhile, Patrick Gerrbrands future at the Walkers Stadium looks bleak after being approached by Norwegian side Fredrikstad.

The Swedish Defenders chances of a first team place have been affected by the arrivals of summer signings Gareth McAuley and Darren Kenton. Rob Kelly has given Gerrbrand permission to open talks with the Norwegian top-flight club.
